Tony Bowden runs international projects for mySociety, the non-profit organisation that created many of the best-known democracy websites in the UK, such as TheyWorkForYou, WhatDoTheyKnow, and FixMyStreet.
His role is to encourage and enable other groups and individuals to build similar transparency and accountability projects in their own countries, particularly throughout Central and Eastern Europe.
He has been building web sites since before Netscape existed, blogging since 2002, and founded several of Northern Ireland’s leading internet companies before relocating to Estonia in 2006.
