
Helge Fahrnberger is a blogger (link: www.helge.at) and entrepreneur in Vienna, Austria, mainly covering the impact of technology on society, politics and media.
He co-founded the technology startup Toursprung (link: www.toursprung.com), the company behind Bikemap.net (link: www.bikemap.net), Europe’s largest bycicle route website, and is co-organizer of Austrian BarCamps (link: www.barcamp.at).
Helge was one of the initiators of “Grüne Vorwahlen” (link: www.gruenevorwahlen.at), a grassroots movement that tried to open up the Austrian Green Party from outside using the power of the internet and an unknown passage in the party’s charter to initiate party primaries.
The movement caused much commotion in Austria. Besides blogging Helge frequently publishes op-eds in Austrian newspapers.
